//: of or relating to the fascia of muscles // myofascial pain.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe and very effective hands on technique that involves applying sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective restrictions to do the following:

-Decrease and Eliminate Pain

-Increase Range of Motion

-Increase Blood Flow

-Increase Lymph Flow

The Fascia will begin to Elongate, Rehydrate and Reorganize!

Wait, what is Fascia?

Our muscles are composed of approximately 80% Fascia. Fascia is a web-like tissue that runs three-dimensionally throughout the body. It is everywhere! When restricted it can exert force on underlying structures- up to 2,000 lbs. per square inch. It can reduce range of motion (ROM) in joints, cause pain, muscle fatigue and even entrap nerves!

There are 12 fascial lines in our body (from Thomas Myers, Bodyworker and Author of "Anatomy Trains".

-Superficial Front Line

-Superficial Back Line

-Lateral Line (2 sides)

-Spiral Line

-Arm Lines (4)

-Functional Lines (2-front and back)

-Deep Front Line
